At 4myschools, we are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Bishops Stortford for a dedicated Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant to join their team from September until Christmas. As a KS1 TA, you will play a key role in supporting the class teacher with the delivery of engaging lessons aligned to the national curriculum, assisting with phonics, early numeracy, and literacy development, working with small groups and on a one-to-one basis, and helping to manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
You may also provide additional support for pupils with special educational needs, adapting resources and approaches to ensure all children can access learning effectively. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about early education and making a meaningful difference in the classroom.
The successful candidate will have prior experience working within a primary school setting, ideally within Key Stage 1, and a good understanding of the KS1 curriculum, including phonics schemes such as Read Write Inc or similar. Experience supporting pupils with SEN is highly advantageous.
You must hold a minimum of GCSE Grade 4 (C) or above in English and Maths and demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A proactive, patient, and enthusiastic approach is essential, along with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Full availability from September through to December is required for this full-time role, and due to the school's location in Bishops Stortford, access to reliable transport is highly desirable.
