We are seeking an experienced NetApp Senior Storage Engineer to join our enterprise infrastructure team on an initial 6 month contract. This is a hands-on technical role focused on the administration, support, and optimisation of NetApp storage environments and modern enterprise backup platforms.
Responsibilities
- Storage Administration & Support
- Hands-on administration of NetApp storage systems
- Strong experience with NetApp ONTAP (Clustered ONTAP)
- Management of aggregates, volumes, LUNs, and qtrees
- Support for NFS and CIFS/SMB protocols
- Configuration and support of Storage Virtual Machines (SVMs)
- Management of Snapshots and SnapMirror replication
- Storage Architecture & Operations
- Design and support of enterprise storage solutions
- Capacity planning and performance tuning
- High availability configurations (HA pairs, clustering)
- Firmware and ONTAP upgrades
- Storage migrations and data lifecycle management
- Backup & Disaster Recovery
- Strong understanding of backup fundamentals (full, incremental, retention policies)
- Knowledge of RPO and RTO objectives
- Disaster recovery planning and testing
- Data integrity validation and restore testing
- Enterprise Backup Platforms
- Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade solutions, particularly: Cohesity, Rubrik
- Experience backing up and restoring enterprise databases
- Protection of VM-based infrastructure
- Image-level backups and application-consistent snapshots
In addition to experience in some of the above, candidates will ideally hold industry certifications in NetApp along with strong troubleshooting and analytical capability, ability to work independently in complex enterprise environments, and clear documentation and effective communication skills.
