We are currently recruiting to a Laboratory Health and Safety Support Officer on a 3 month initial contract working for a busy Higher Education provider.
Your main role will be to ensure the laboratory facilities are compliant and safe including:
- Arranging for chemical waste collection by the 3rd party supplier
- Complete lab checks and audits to monitor compliance with procedures, policies and health and safety requirements
- Ensure safety signage is visible
- Conduct First Aid Kit checks and audits
- Advise on storage of chemicals and hazardous substances
- Ensure the correct PPE is available
The ideal candidate will have past experience in a similar Lab based role either as a Lab Technician, Lab Manager or Health and Safety Officer.
The role is for 3 months initially with potential to extend.
Flexible working hours of 8am - 6pm working 7.3 hours per day Monday to Friday.
