Are you a strategic leader with deep expertise in Revenues and Benefits? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, high-impact environment, managing major budgets, contractors, and statutory responsibilities?
We’re looking for an exceptional Head of Revenue and Benefits to lead our high-performing team across Council Tax, Business Rates, and Housing Benefits. This pivotal leadership role will shape policy, drive performance, and ensure that residents remain at the heart of everything we do.
What You’ll Be Responsible For:
- Acting as the clients technical lead on all matters related to Revenues and Benefits.
- Leading and managing key contracts and partnerships to deliver high-quality services.
- Managing the collection of over £300 million in income and ensuring £40 million in Housing Benefits are accurately paid and recovered through subsidy.
- Overseeing strategic service delivery and budget management across the function.
- Working directly with elected members, MPs, community groups, and senior stakeholders to deliver on our anti-poverty and financial inclusion goals.
- Leading a team of senior managers across Revenue, Benefits, Invoicing, and Credit Control.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven senior leadership experience in Revenues and Benefits.
- An IRRV qualification or substantial experience at a senior level.
- Strong expertise in contract management, policy development, and stakeholder engagement.
- Deep understanding of statutory obligations, government returns, and performance frameworks.
- Ability to balance operational excellence with strategic vision.
