Our client is currently looking to recruit a Building Services Operations Manager on an initial contract basis.
Role overview
An opportunity for a Building Services Operations Manager to lead hard services delivery across a large and varied estate of 400+ buildings and assets. The role is responsible for statutory compliance, health & safety, financial control and contract performance across HVAC, Mechanical & Electrical (M&E), plumbing, drainage and building fabric services. You will lead an in-house contract management team, manage external suppliers and drive continuous improvement, sustainability and value for money.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, manage and develop a building services contract management team.
- Procure, manage and monitor hard services contracts, ensuring full statutory and health & safety compliance.
- Oversee building services works from specification and tender through to delivery and performance management.
- Manage budgets and financial planning, ensuring cost-effective service delivery.
- Produce regular compliance and performance reports for senior stakeholders.
- Audit contractor performance against KPIs and SLAs, driving service improvements.
- Provide technical advice and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver sustainable solutions.
Essential requirements
- Degree or HNC/HND in a Facilities or Building Services discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. IWFM, IFMA, RICS, CIBSE, MCIOB, ICE or similar) or equivalent experience.
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent experience.
- Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and compliance.
- Proven experience managing hard services contracts and large budgets.
- Experience leading and developing professional teams.
Skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong contract, commercial and reporting capability.
- Confident use of Microsoft 365 and CAFM systems.
