We are seeking a Head of Payroll on a 6 month initial contract based in Central London to lead a payroll function for a leading Higher Education provider. Your main role will be to be accountable for payroll payments and deductions for UK and overseas employees, reconciling and balancing the annual salary cost, reporting to statutory bodies, management of payroll debt provision, manage, promote and administer reward related schemes and their providers, and provide advice to employees on income tax and social security relation issues.
Day to day you will be responsible for:
- Leadership of the payroll team
- Validating accuracy across pay runs, submissions, pensions, etc.
- Developing best practice and payroll procedures and processes
- Monthly auditing and reporting
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- CIPP Foundation
- Leading a payroll in a complex organisation
- Developing processes and procedures
- Strong understanding of legislation
- Leading monthly payroll cycles
- Problem solving and solutions driven
- Strong leader and exceptional stakeholder management skills

This role will be hybrid based with the office being based near Kings Cross and Euston.
Pay Rate: £35.88 per hour plus holiday pay, £48.99 per hour via an umbrella company (Annual Equivalent - £68,284)
