Our client is currently looking to recruit a remote based Childcare Lawyer on an initial 3 month basis.

The successful candidate will have previous experience working within Childcare as a Lawyer / Solicitor, and ideally have had exposure to the public sector. Within the role you will be providing comprehensive and client focussed legal advice and support to the client, including the following duties:

  • Undertake all types of child protection legal work, providing legal advice & support to the Children’s Services Department to enable the client to meet its legal duties. This will include acting on behalf of the client in connection with pre proceedings cases and applications to the court for care/supervision orders, Deprivations of Liberty and Secure Accommodation orders, Female Genital Mutilation Protection orders, Forced Marriage Protection orders, Placement and Adoption orders.
  • To undertake advocacy on behalf of the client in the Family Court in relation to child protection and safeguarding cases and to advocate and negotiate on behalf of the client in other tribunals and at any relevant committees and panels.
  • To provide proactive legal support to the client, to enable its policy and strategic objectives to be met minimising the risk of legal challenge or complaints. Ensuring the advice and support given is concise, and engaged with the required outcome(s).
