Are you an experienced engineering leader with a passion for maritime infrastructure? We are seeking a Head of Engineering to oversee harbour repairs.
This role will initially be a 6 month contract with potential permanent opportunities if of interest.
You will be responsible for:
- Develop and implement a strategic approach to harbour repairs and infrastructure maintenance.
- Expert guidance on engineering and dredging matters, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations, EMAS/ISO14001 standards, and all relevant legislation.
- Lead the planning, delivery, and management of capital programmes, ensuring the docks remain operational, sustainable, and fit for the future.
- Budget management
- Promote, plan, and organise engineering works in alignment with the Harbour Act/Order, Byelaws, and policies.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Proven leadership experience in engineering, maritime infrastructure, or harbour maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of dredging, dock engineering, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven experience and skills in mechanical/hydraulic/marine/electrical maintenance.
- Experience managing large-scale capital programmes and multi-million-pound budgets.
- Ideally Health and Safety Certification such as NEBOSH
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Commitment to sustainability, ensuring environmental best practices are embedded in all projects.
