Electronics Design Engineer Derbyshire - Commutable from Nottingham, Mansfield, Chesterfield, Sheffield £35,000 - £45,000
We're seeking an experienced engineer to join a growing team developing advanced electronic control systems. This is an exciting opportunity to work across the full product development lifecycle, from concept and design through to testing, validation and production.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Designing analogue and digital electronic circuits
- Developing PCB layouts, including multi-layer designs
- Selecting components and managing obsolescence
- Working closely with embedded software engineers on hardware/software integration
- Supporting prototyping, testing and product validation
- Collaborating with production teams and external suppliers
- Maintaining technical documentation in line with ISO 9001 standards
What We're Looking For:
- Experience in electronic circuit design and PCB layout
- Knowledge of Altium, KiCad or similar design tools
- Strong understanding of analogue, digital and mixed-signal electronics
- Practical debugging and fault-finding skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
Desirable Experience:
- Industrial, automotive or control systems environments
- EMC compliance awareness
- Design for Manufacture (DFM)
- A practical, hands-on approach to engineering
