We are seeking Environmental Health Officers on an initial contract till the end of February 2027 to support the Housing Directorate. Your main role will be to work within the Private Sector Housing to bring about improvements to housing conditions and to secure a healthy and safe environment. This is achieved through advice, investigation of complaints, education, and enforcement of statutory provisions.
The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:
- Experienced Environmental Health Officer in the housing area
- BSc degree, MSc degree, diploma or current equivalent in Environmental Health
- Knowledge of the Housing Act and related legislation
- Knowledge of the legal processes and evidential requirements
The role will be hybrid based with site visits across the Brighton and Hove region.
