Are you passionate about improving health and wellbeing through community sport and physical activity? We are looking for a proactive, dynamic Healthy Communities Manager to lead engagement and programme development across leisure centres and local communities in Bexleyheath. In this impactful role, you'll work alongside central, regional, and site teams as well as key stakeholders to deliver the Healthy Communities Plan, helping achieve national and local health objectives. Your work will directly support residents in leading more active, healthier lives while tackling health inequalities across priority groups.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of the Healthy Communities Plan, delivering on key performance indicators.
- Build and maintain partnerships with local, regional, and national organisations.
- Identify and develop initiatives that enhance health outcomes and increase physical activity.
- Drive participation and member retention through targeted programming and centre-based initiatives.
- Expand access to leisure facilities with inclusive activity programmes, health campaigns, and community events.
About You
- Minimum 4 months experience in a health & wellbeing, healthy communities, or sports development role.
- Demonstrated experience managing programmes, working within budgets, and delivering against service level agreements.
- Good understanding of Active Partnerships, National Governing Bodies, local healthcare networks, the voluntary sector, and Local Authorities.
- NGB Level 1 qualification is desirable.
- Safeguarding, Child Protection, and First Aid certifications are a plus.
