A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Marina Manager to join a busy coastal marina and visitor destination on the Dorset coast. This role is ideal for someone with strong operations, customer service, and team leadership experience in leisure, hospitality, facilities or outdoor activities. You will support the management team in the day-to-day operations of a high-profile marina, ensuring excellent customer service for berth holders and visitors while maintaining safe, efficient site operations.
Key Responsibilities- Support the day-to-day operational management of the marina, ensuring all activities run smoothly and efficiently.
- Coordinate, allocate, and monitor the work of the marina team to ensure daily, weekly, and monthly operational checks are completed.
- Ensure all administrative tasks and operational processes are completed accurately and on time.
- Assist with staff rota planning, ensuring appropriate coverage during weekends and peak periods.
- Conduct daily team briefings and support the motivation and development of staff.
- Allocate marina berths to annual berth holders and visiting vessels, working closely with operational staff.
- Help maintain a safe, secure, clean, and well-presented marina environment, overseeing routine maintenance and safety checks.
- Deliver high levels of customer service, ensuring an exceptional experience for all visitors and customers.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers, tenants, and team members.
- Support the management team in handling feedback, complaints, and operational improvements.
- Assist with leading the team during busy operational periods or changes within the business.
- Experience in operations, marina management, leisure, tourism, hospitality, or facilities management.
