Boatyard Manager – Southampton, Hampshire. Our client is a highly successful and service focused marina, holiday and hospitality operator with a portfolio of operations across the South of England. They recognise that people are fundamental to their success and offer excellent training and career development paths for all employees. They now have an exciting role available as a Boatyard Manager in the Southampton area. We are looking for a proven leader with extensive plant and lifting experience although not necessarily from the marina sector. You should hold health and safety qualifications including ISOH and have a passion for delivering first class service to a loyal customer base. Main duties include: To be responsible for day-to-day operation of the Boatyard and Dry Stack Operation; to ensure the effective and efficient running of lifting operations ensuring excellence in customer service and experience at all times. To be accountable for the financial performance of the boatyard operation and run the Boat Yard effectively, correctly and profitably. To ensure that all daily, weekly and monthly checks are carried out and recorded as per company policies and procedures. Ensuring all defects are reported and resolved in a timely manner. To ensure all legal, HSE and company policies including financial polices are being adhered to. To lead and oversee and be accountable for all boatyard administration to ensure all records are maintained accurately. To assist with the lifting of boats within the boatyard and dry stack operations when required. To hold weekly staff meetings and undertake appraisals and on-going performance monitoring and management where necessary. To recruit staff as required ensuing the business is employing customer focused, flexible, smart and positive individuals, while also being responsible for disciplinary matters should the need arise. To coach staff to monitor customer’s satisfaction while constantly improving the customer experience ensuring excellence in customer service at all times. To formulate Boatyard budgets and pricing policy. To accurately and weekly forecast site activity and create offers to drive activity to meet your revenue targets.
