We’re looking for a skilled and experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join our growing team. You’ll be responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of commercial gas systems and appliances across a range of environments from offices and schools to hospitals, retail units, and industrial facilities. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical knowledge, a focus on safety and compliance, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
As our Commercial Gas Engineer you will be responsible for:
- Installing, servicing, and maintaining commercial gas systems including boilers, burners, and heating systems
- Diagnosing and repairing faults in gas appliances and associated equipment
- Carrying out routine safety checks, inspections, and testing in line with gas safety standards
- Ensuring all work complies with current regulations and company procedures
- Completing accurate service reports, job sheets, and compliance certificates
- Responding to emergency callouts and breakdowns efficiently and professionally
- Collaborating with site managers, contractors, and other trades as required
- Maintaining company tools, equipment, and vehicle to a high standard
- Participating in ongoing training and development opportunities
In order to be successful you must have:
- Valid Commercial Gas Certifications
- At least 5 years’ experience working with commercial gas systems
- Strong understanding of gas safety legislation, heating systems, and pipework
- Full UK driving licence
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Confidence working across different environments, including at heights or in confined spaces
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
It would be great if you had:
- CCN1, CENWAT, CPA1, HWB1, CCP1, CIGA1, COCN1, CODNCO1, TPCP1A, ICPN1
- Experience in healthcare, education, or industrial sectors
- CSCS card or equivalent site safety certification
- Knowledge of BMS (Building Management Systems) and controls
- IOSH/NEBOSH Health & Safety qualification
