The International Payroll & Benefits Administrator will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of European payroll and benefits, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations, and resolving payroll, benefit or retirement inquiries and reconciliation discrepancies. This position requires a high level of attention to detail, extensive knowledge in local and regional payroll related tax law, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. As part of the Finance team, reporting to the Controller, this position will support 4G's efforts in building out systems and processes for scale and will have global ownership of the payroll and benefits functions for our European entities.
International Payroll
- Own payroll process, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of monthly payroll including but not limited to the UK, Ireland, Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Belgium, Switzerland, Sweden, and Denmark.
- Maintain compliance with federal, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Administer global pension programs ensuring contributions and census data is processed and updated timely and accurately.
- Access and manage local government portals to receive digital correspondence, process leave cases, statutory requirements, and tax filings.
- Manage the Payroll inbox by responding to payroll-related inquiries from employees within jurisdiction ownership.
- Collaborate with HR to coordinate compensation updates, new hires, separations, data changes and leave of absences managed in HRIS while ensuring proper controls.
- Ensure end of year payroll processes are completed accurately and on time.
- Manage high-complexity requirements of Belgian operations including but not limited to 13.92 pay structure for 13th month and double holiday pay; ownership of holiday accrual logic, working hours and administration of local statutory leave cases; and payroll related benefits reporting such as Corporate Car program, Mobility Budget (Mbrella), and Meal vouches ensuring correct tax treatment and reconciliations.
International Benefits
- Collaborate with HR on benefit administration within assigned jurisdictions, acting as a key partner to HR to ensure seamless benefits coordination during the employee lifecycle (onboarding, changes - initiated by the employee or during benefit renewals, and offboarding).
- Manage the end-to-end administration of statutory benefits and ensure proper treatment in payroll.
- Act as the main point of contact between 4G Clinical and benefit third-party providers, including our Broker Liaison Service for international benefit administration.
- Maintain compliance with statutory benefit reporting requirements and local regulations.
Financial Accounting
- Participate in month-end close process including payroll and benefit accounting entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations within NetSuite.
- Work cross-functionally with the Finance and HR teams to streamline payroll, benefits and accounting processes and implement best practices.
- Other duties and ad hoc reporting as required.
Requirements
- Experience: 3-5 years of progressive multi-country payroll-related experience is required.
- Technical Skills: Extensive knowledge of European payroll processing and tax laws, statutory benefit requirements across any of EU regions. Particularly in Belgium would be advantageous.
- Soft Skills: Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across UK and US time zones.
- English required; additional European languages are a plus but not mandatory.
Education And/or Certification Requirements
The candidate must possess a bachelor's degree or equivalent in the field of Business, HR, Accounting, or related field.
Other Skills/Requirements
- Systems: Proven experience with Papaya Global, NetSuite and UKG Ready (or similar HRIS) is beneficial.
- Occasional business travel may be required.
