I’m recruiting on behalf of a large, independent property and construction consultancy with a strong UK presence and an established reputation advising investors, developers and institutional clients.

Due to continued growth and client demand, they are looking for a Head of Dilapidations to help lead and further develop their Dilapidations offering. There is already an established team, client base and work to deliver. They now want someone with the technical credibility, commercial relationships and ambition to help take the service forward.

You’ll work with high profile investor and institutional clients across industrial and logistics, offices, Purpose Built Student Accommodation and Build to Rent.

The Role

This is a senior, hands on position combining technical Building Surveying and Dilapidations work, client relationships, leadership and business development. You’ll be responsible for:

  • Delivering high quality Dilapidations and Building Surveying services
  • Managing and developing relationships with existing investor and institutional clients
  • Using your own network to generate new opportunities and introductions
  • Helping shape the strategy and future direction of the Dilapidations service
  • Working collaboratively with other disciplines across the wider consultancy
  • Driving consistency, best practice and quality
  • Supporting and developing the technical team
  • Raising the profile of the Dilapidations service internally and externally

This isn't a role where you'll simply manage from the sidelines. You'll remain hands on, client facing and commercially involved, while having the opportunity to influence how the service develops.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll need to be:

  • MRICS qualified
  • An experienced Building Surveyor with strong Dilapidations expertise
  • Experienced within the commercial property and construction sector
  • Technically strong and comfortable delivering work personally
  • Commercially minded and confident developing new business
  • Well connected within the commercial property market
  • Able to bring an existing Building Surveying and Dilapidations client network with the potential to generate new work and introductions
  • Confident building relationships with senior investor and institutional clients
  • A strong leader who enjoys mentoring and developing others

What’s On Offer?

  • £95,000 – £100,000 salary
  • £7,700 car allowance
  • 20% bonus
  • Flexible and hybrid working
  • 27 days holiday
  • Annual wellbeing day
  • One charity leave day each year
  • Private healthcare
  • Life assurance and personal accident cover
  • Company contributory pension
  • Cycle scheme and season ticket loan

For someone who has built a strong reputation within Building Surveying and Dilapidations and is ready for greater influence, this is an opportunity to join a well established, multidisciplinary consultancy with an existing client base, while having the freedom to develop relationships, grow the service and make your mark on its future. If you're already operating at this level, or you're ready to take that next step, I'd be very happy to have a confidential conversation. Apply today or contact me directly to find out more.
