My client is looking to appoint an experienced Principal Civil Engineer to join their expanding Civil Engineering team. This is a standout opportunity for a Senior or Principal level Civil Engineer seeking more autonomy, leadership responsibility, and genuine long-term progression within a modern, fast-growing consultancy environment.
You will play a key role in delivering high-profile residential, commercial, and infrastructure developments — leading projects from planning through to construction while mentoring junior engineers and helping shape the future growth of the business. If you enjoy client-facing work, technical leadership, and managing complex infrastructure schemes, this role offers the perfect balance of responsibility, progression, and project variety.
The Role:
- Lead the design and delivery of civil engineering projects
- Manage drainage strategies, highways design, and infrastructure schemes
- Oversee S278 / S38 technical approvals
- Coordinate project teams and manage technical delivery
- Work closely with developers, architects, contractors, and local authorities
- Review and mentor junior engineers' designs and technical outputs
- Attend client meetings and site visits
- Prepare fee proposals and support business development activities
- Ensure projects are delivered to high quality, safety, and sustainability standards

About You:
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) working towards Chartership

- Experience managing teams and mentoring junior engineers
- Proficient with AutoCAD and Civil 3D (or similar design software)
- Commercially aware with excellent communication skills
- Ambitious and motivated to progress within a growing consultancy
