This is a key opportunity for an experienced MEP Estimating Manager to take ownership of high-value, technically complex tenders and play a pivotal role in shaping project success from the outset.

The Opportunity

As MEP Estimating Manager, you’ll lead the preparation of accurate, competitive tenders across major projects, ensuring bids are commercially sound, technically robust, and aligned with business objectives. Working closely with senior leadership, you’ll drive tender strategy, assess risk, and identify opportunities to enhance value — directly contributing to project wins and long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tender Strategy & Delivery
    • Lead the preparation of detailed and competitive MEP estimates
    • Collaborate with the Pre-Construction Director to develop winning tender strategies
    • Interpret client requirements and translate them into robust cost plans
    • Compile and present final estimates for internal review and adjudication
  • Risk & Commercial Management
    • Identify and assess risks, opportunities, and cost drivers within tender submissions
    • Develop mitigation strategies and advise on commercial positioning
    • Monitor market trends and pricing fluctuations to maintain competitiveness
    • Propose value engineering options and alternative solutions
  • Supply Chain & Stakeholder Management
    • Support selection and engagement of subcontractors and suppliers
    • Review subcontractor quotations for compliance and value
    • Liaise with internal teams, consultants, and external stakeholders
    • Attend client meetings, tender interviews, and negotiations
  • Process & Compliance
    • Ensure all tenders comply with internal procedures and governance
    • Present key risks and considerations at adjudication meetings
    • Maintain alignment with management systems and reporting requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in a senior MEP estimating role within construction
  • Strong technical knowledge across both Electrical and Mechanical systems
  • Experience delivering tenders on complex or high-value projects
  • Understanding of contract documentation and commercial risk management
  • Experience within data centres or similar high-spec environments desirable
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g. Conquest) and strong IT capability
