The Role
Warehouse Assistant cum Driver managing daily logistics by ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of goods, while managing inventory control, maintaining organized storage systems, and ensuring accurate documentation of stock movements.
Key Responsibilities
- Store Operations & Inventory Management
- Oversee daily warehouse operations to ensure efficiency and smooth workflow.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving, inspecting, and recording incoming stock.
- Ensure proper storage, organization, and handling of goods to maintain quality and accessibility.
- Monitor stock movement and investigate discrepancies, shortages, or damages.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records (manual or system-based).
- Conduct regular stock counts and audits to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Coordinate and prepare goods for timely dispatch.
- Ensure the safe and timely delivery of goods and transportation of goods when required.
- Plan and optimize delivery routes and schedules to improve efficiency.
- Handle loading and unloading processes to prevent damage or loss.
- Ensure company vehicle is properly maintained, clean, and serviced regularly.
- Ensure compliance with traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Oversee delivery documentation and ensure proper record-keeping.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe store environment.
- Ensure adherence to company procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Job Requirements
- Possess a valid driving licence (Class 3 or 3A or relevant class) with a clean driving record.
- Must obtain a valid forklift driving license.
- Proven experience in driving and basic storekeeping or warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with inventory management practices and stock control procedures.
- Ability to handle physical tasks, including loading and unloading of goods.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety practices.
- Able to use simple inventory systems or maintain manual records accurately.
- Good sense of responsibility, time management, and reliability.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Good communication skills and possess a positive working attitude.
