Responsibilities
- Accountable for running an individual caseload
- Provide support, guidance and assistance to the team to deliver outstanding service to clients
- Contribute to proactive and commercial case management and progression across the team
- Support the Team Leader/Head of Department in ensuring the delivery of the team’s financial and performance KPIs
- Effective and thorough time recording
- Discuss and agree case tactics and planning with the Team Leader/Head of Department and team members
- Identify and drive cases ready for LOC, settlement, and service within the team
- Work with the team to ensure relevant information is collected and collated to enable case progression
- Manage a caseload in a proactive commercial manner
- Coordinate the progression of cases with all internal and external parties
- Draft legal documentation including LOC, letters of instruction
- Negotiate settlements and issue/service of proceedings as required
- Litigation of claims as required
- Oversee documentation and correspondence produced by the team
- Advise the team on technical issues arising from their cases with support from the Team Leader/Head of Department
Requirements / Ideal Candidate
- Recent experience handling a caseload NQ-5 years PQE or equivalent experience in Clinical Negligence
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and drafting skills
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office, Proclaim and Excel
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong commercial awareness within a legal environment
- Ability to work well with junior team members, providing coaching and mentoring
- Flexible and willing to commit to achieving results and meeting deadlines
- Excellent client care skills
