Solicitor or Equivalent (Clinical Negligence Grade A - Newcastle)

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Negligence Solicitor to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Solicitor you will handle complex cases from start to finish, provide proactive commercial case management and build strong relationships with clients, medical experts and stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide support, guidance and assistance to the team to deliver outstanding service to customers
  • Proactive and commercial case management and progression
  • Support the Team Leader in ensuring delivery of the team’s financial performance KPIs
  • Effective and thorough time recording

Key Accountable Tasks

  • Discuss case tactics and planning with the Team Leader and team members
  • Identify cases ready for LOC, settlement and service within the team
  • Work with the team to collect and collate relevant information to enable progression of the case
  • Manage a caseload in a proactive commercial manner
  • Coordinate progression of cases with all internal and external parties
  • Draft legal documentation including LOC, letters of instruction
  • Negotiate settlement and issue and service proceedings if required
  • Oversee documentation and correspondence produced by the team
  • Advise the team on any technical issues arising

Essential Skills And Experience

  • Recent experience of handling a case load
  • 8 years+ PQE or equivalent experience working in Clinical Negligence
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and drafting skills
  • Excellent IT skills, especially Microsoft Office packages, Proclaim and Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong commercial awareness within a legal environment
  • Ability to work well with junior team members, providing coaching and mentoring
  • Flexible and willing to commit to achieving results and meeting deadlines
  • Excellent Client Care Skills
