Location: Manchester / Hybrid. We work across England, with offices currently in Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Bolton, Southport, Newcastle, Reading, Birmingham, Northampton and Cambridge. Fletchers Group is seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Paralegal to join our Clinical Negligence team. As a Paralegal in the team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our solicitors and senior solicitors in delivering exceptional legal services to our clients. Your responsibilities will involve running a caseload of Clinical Negligence cases from inception to trial, always under supervision and in line with current company policies and legal requirements. You will also accept delegated tasks on other similar cases, conduct legal research, draft documents, and liaise with clients, medical experts and other professionals to assist the team in settling the cases.

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure the delivery for yourself of all KPI targets set by the firm.
  • Ensure cases are progressed in a timely, efficient, and proactive manner.
  • Liaise with clients, experts, barristers, third‑party solicitors and insurers as directed.
  • Deal with all aspects of pre‑ and post‑issue procedures under supervision in a timely and cost‑effective manner.
  • Ensure all actions per Proclaim Action List are completed on time.
  • Accurate time recording.
  • Maintain client files in good order in accordance with Lexcel and other quality assurance requirements.
  • Report to Senior Lawyer as required.
  • Assist in collecting and collating medical records.
  • Prepare client documents such as witness statements.
  • Deal with a caseload of Clinical Negligence cases in the early stages and assist team members with tasks.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Desire to work in this area of law and preferably some experience.
  • Graduate, preferably with a law‑related degree and/or professional qualification such as LPC or route to BAR or CILEX.
  • Desire and ability to take direction and supervision from team leader.
  • Proven legal and forensic skills.
  • Good research skills.
