A Day in the Life of a Deputy Manager - Bars and Restaurants at The Westin London City Hotel:
- Plays a key leadership role in the daily operation and strategic development of assigned Food & Beverage outlets, supporting the General Manager of Bars & Restaurants in all areas including team performance, service standards, guest satisfaction, and profitability.
- A proactive and hands‑on approach, ensuring that all outlets operate in line with company values, brand standards, and operational targets.
- The Deputy Manager Bars and Restaurants will assume full responsibility for outlet management in the absence of the General Manager of Bars & Restaurants.
- Oversee and support the smooth daily functioning of all outlets, including restaurants, bars, lounge, and in‑room dining.
- Implement service standards and SOPs consistently across shifts and teams.
- Lead by example, setting high standards for grooming, conduct, and customer service.
- Support performance management through regular feedback, coaching, and one‑on‑one sessions.
- Ensure a warm, professional, and consistent guest experience across all service touchpoints.
- Personally address guest concerns and service failures, ensuring effective follow‑up and recovery.
- Support achievement of revenue and cost targets through efficient staffing and resource allocation.
- Monitor POS systems for pricing accuracy, menu updates, and transaction irregularities.
- Assist with the preparation of weekly, monthly, and ad‑hoc performance reports.
- Participate in brainstorming and execution of new menus, promotions, and guest engagement activities.
- Encourage upselling and suggestive selling among team members.
- Liaise with marketing and sales departments to support outlet campaigns, social media exposure, and events.

- Strong food knowledge and service skills.

- Team player who can be flexible and happy to both cover shifts and work in other areas as part of their weekly rota structure.
