Reporting to the General Manager, you will be fully responsible for the overall performance of the hotel, overseeing Rooms, Food & Beverage, Kitchen, Maintenance, Health & Safety, and Security operations, with full P&L responsibility and acting as Deputy to the General Manager.
About The Role
- Lead the day‑to‑day operations of the hotel, working closely with the General Manager and Executive Committee to deliver exceptional results.
- Drive business performance through effective decision‑making, financial management, and operational excellence.
- Take ownership of hotel profitability, including budgets, forecasting, P&L performance, and commercial initiatives.
- Analyse market trends and identify opportunities to grow revenue, improve efficiency, and enhance guest satisfaction.
- Oversee operational departments including Rooms, Food & Beverage, Kitchen, Maintenance, Security, and Health & Safety.
- Ensure compliance with brand standards, quality assurance, and all statutory requirements.
- Champion guest satisfaction by delivering memorable experiences and driving continuous service improvements.
- Lead and support Heads of Department, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and development.
- Drive team engagement, succession planning, and people‑focused initiatives across the hotel.
- Act as a brand ambassador, promoting innovation, creativity, and strong community connections.
- Support the General Manager in owner relations, corporate partnerships, and strategic business planning.
- Deputise for the General Manager when required, including crisis management responsibilities.
- Ensure hotel assets are maintained to the highest standards, overseeing maintenance plans and audit compliance.
- Monitor key performance indicators across guest experience, people, quality, health & safety, and food safety.
- Maintain a strong focus on service recovery, guest loyalty, and the continued success of the Hilton Honors programme.
About The Candidate
- A qualified Deputy General Manager with at least 2 years’ experience in the upscale market in a similar role. Hilton experience is desirable.
- A thorough understanding of fire safety, security protocols, and Martyn’s Law requirements.
- Proven expertise in Health & Safety legislation, compliance, and best practices.
- Solid understanding of HR policies, employee relations, and people‑related KPIs.
- Experience working within global hotel brands and operating to brand standards.
- Knowledge of Hilton Worldwide systems, procedures, and brand requirements is desirable.
- Familiarity with Canopy by Hilton standards and lifestyle hospitality concepts is advantageous.
- Understanding of corporate governance, policies, and operational frameworks.
- Awareness of ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) objectives and sustainability trends within hospitality.
- A commercial mindset with the ability to balance guest experience, team engagement, and financial performance.
- A strong business acumen, and understanding of hotel financial performance, including P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
