4C Executive Placement are working with a specialist renewable energy services company with years of experience providing operations, maintenance, engineering and asset management solutions to the on-shore wind sector throughout the UK and Ireland. Our client supports a broad and growing portfolio of renewable energy assets for utility providers, fund managers and independent operators supported by a highly experienced team of engineers, technical specialists and operational staff.
With a bold growth plan in place, the business is now seeking to appoint an experienced operations leader who will have responsibility for the strategic integration, optimisation, and scaling of the business's day-to-day operations and project delivery functions. The COO will serve as a unifying leader across the management team, tying together operations, engineering, and project workflows into a cohesive, high-performance, customer-centric mindset.
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
- Significant experience working in a senior leadership operational role, ideally within engineering services, (M&E) contracting, utilities, facilities management, telecommunications, or heavy industrial infrastructure sectors and having responsibility for geographically dispersed field-services team requiring visible, hands-on team leadership.
- Demonstrable success managing and improving complex and dynamic logistics, scheduling, and multi-site supply chains where external variables (such as weather or non-interchangeable components) require flexible capacity planning.
- Proven experience spearheading the optimisation and integration of IT, ERP, or proprietary field-management systems to link stock control, job planning, and field data.
- A strong and demonstrable commitment to driving robust, proactive health and safety cultures within high-risk operational environments, with experience managing compliance frameworks and/or ISO standards.
- Demonstrable track record of driving business growth through forward planning, capacity and workforce scaling, managing an increasing pipeline of new business which are geographically spread.
- Practical familiarity with Lean Management or continuous improvement methodologies adapted successfully to dynamic field environments.
- Experience managing significant operational and commercial budgets, closely monitoring costs, protecting profitability and reporting performance at Board level.
