Praxis Care is one of the largest charities and respected providers of services in Northern Ireland, providing support to people with learning disabilities, autism, mental ill health and dementia.
4C Executive Placement are currently supporting Praxis Care in the appointment of a Director of Care, Operations & Development – NI & IoM who will report to the Chief Executive and join a stable and driven senior leadership team. The role holder will be responsible for leading, developing and delivering high-quality care services to adults with mental ill health, learning disability and dementia within NI and IoM. They will work closely with the CEO and the senior leadership team to formulate strategic, operational, and development plans as required, collaborating with Heads of Operations on continuous improvement and life enhancement programmes for the service users.
Responsibilities:- Lead, develop and deliver high-quality care services to adults with mental ill health, learning disability and dementia within NI and IoM.
- Collaborate with the CEO and senior leadership team to formulate strategic, operational, and development plans.
- Work with Heads of Operations on continuous improvement and life enhancement programmes for service users.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior leadership role, ideally working with vulnerable adults/children in Health & Social Care or a relevant sector, within a large, multi-site organisation with responsibilities for the design and implementation of strategies which align to overall business objectives.
- Significant experience managing large, complex, dispersed teams and developing direct reports as well as wider teams, ensuring robust succession planning and high retention, engagement and performance.
- Demonstrable experience of creating, agreeing and rolling out KPIs, communicating them to direct reports and the wider team, and tracking performance against agreed KPIs with corrective actions where gaps and risks are identified.
- Proven track record of liaising with regulatory bodies, Trusts, and Commissioners, building strong professional relationships and ensuring highest standards of quality and compliance are embedded.
- Significant experience managing large budgets, including effective allocation of resources and robust cost control.
- Track record of driving and delivering innovation in service delivery, facilitating user access while upholding high standards of quality, safety and governance.
- Professional qualification in Social Work OR First Level Nursing (i.e., RMN, RGN, RMNH – must be on live register) AND 5 years’ experience in a Senior Management role in the Health and Social Care sector AND demonstrable knowledge of children and adults with learning disability/mental ill health/acquired brain injury.
- OR Degree educated in a relevant discipline AND 5 years’ experience in a Senior Management role in the Health and Social Care sector AND demonstrable knowledge of children and adults with learning disability/mental ill health/acquired brain injury.
- Candidates with Social work qualifications should be registered, or applying for registration, with the Social Care Council. Candidates with Nursing Qualifications should be on the live nursing register with the NMC.
