4basebio is an innovative gene synthesis company with the ambition to provide high quality, synthetic DNA for use in gene therapy and gene editing platforms. The company is growing rapidly and is establishing a GMP gene synthesis hub at its site north of Cambridge, UK to facilitate the scaling and optimisation of our proprietary DNA manufacturing process.
As a Manufacturing Technician you will be responsible for performing functions related to production and GMP manufacturing operations. The main focus of the role will involve:
- Daily cleaning within a controlled laboratory environment
- Environmental monitoring
- Housekeeping and support for the manufacturing Scientists
This position requires great attention to detail, ability to work in a team environment and a keen interest in optimisation of processes. Manufacturing Technicians will be responsible for adhering to all QMS policies and procedures, cGMPs and safety standards.
Job Responsibilities:
- Contribute to housekeeping tasks to support manufacturing operations including cleaning, sanitisation and sterilisation of equipment and components
- Daily cleaning which involves disinfecting surfaces, floors and waste removal
- Oversee laundry of lab coats with subcontractor
- Support the monitoring and maintenance of the facility and direct utilities in accordance with company & regulatory guidelines
- Perform all manufacturing operations including but not limited to component transfer and preparation, equipment and area preparation, media preparation, up and downstream manufacturing, and cleaning of process areas
- Maintain QMS documentation, keep accurate records, follow instructions and comply with company policies
- Ensure compliance with Quality policies, SOPs and Health and Safety procedures
- Support troubleshooting activities and assist with continuous improvement initiatives
- Undertake any other appropriate roles and responsibilities that reasonably fall within the role holder’s skills and experience as requested
- Travel to other 4basebio sites as required
Person Specification:
- Minimum 1 year’s experience in similar environment preferred
- Cleanroom experience or good understanding of GMP and Good Clinical Practice desirable
- Excellent interpersonal skills, organised and enthusiastic and comfortable working autonomously or in a team environment
- Willingness to follow GMP PPE requirements during the working shift
- Excellent attention to detail
- Must hold the right to work in the UK
