Looking for a writing role where you can shape the future of sustainable public transport?

We\’re on the lookout for two experienced and passionate Bid Writers to join our Business Development team. You’ll play a key role in helping Stagecoach win new contracts and deliver innovative, community-focused, and environmentally friendly transport solutions across the UK. Whether you’re turning complex information into compelling narratives, collaborating with specialists across our business, or helping us stand out from the competition, this is a role where your writing really makes an impact.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Working closely with colleagues across Health & Safety, Environment, Social Value, Technology, Operations, Assets and People to craft accurate and engaging content
  • Using tools to generate and refine draft content for bid submissions
  • Creating high-quality, persuasive, and compliant written responses tailored to each tender
  • Translating technical detail into clear, easy-to-understand copy
  • Editing and proofreading contributions to ensure consistency and alignment with Stagecoach’s tone and messaging
  • Helping maintain a content library with reusable case studies and data
  • Keeping up to date with industry trends and competitor activity
  • Reviewing feedback from submissions to help us continuously improve

What we’re looking for:

  • An excellent, confident, and compelling writer
  • Proven experience in bid writing or a similar writing role, transport or infrastructure experience is a bonus
  • Knowledge of at least one of our key areas (e.g. H&S, Environment, Social Value, etc.) and a willingness to learn about the rest
  • Strong attention to detail and a flair for turning complex information into engaging copy
  • Organised and deadline-driven, with great stakeholder skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Bonus if you’ve got experience in document formatting, layout, or visual storytelling
