£14.99 per hour including London Allowance. Plus shift premium and benefits.

Full time 38.5 hours per week, 4‑on 4‑off shifts Sunday to Saturday 8pm‑8am.

Purley, CR8 4DA, including travel across Purley & Earlsfield.

You’ll need a full manual UK driver’s licence for this job.

Please note all positions within Funeralcare can involve direct physical contact with the deceased as part of normal duties – the amount of contact will differ depending on the role applied for.

Typical duties include but are not limited to preparation, transportation, and personal care of the deceased to be carried out with professionalism, dignity, respect and adherence to health and safety standards.

We’re looking for people to join the Co‑op Funeralcare team as night ambulance crew. You don’t need experience to do this job, just a genuine desire to help people at the time they need it most. As part of a specialist night ambulance service, you’ll collect and transport the deceased during night hours, supporting a 24‑7 operation for our clients. Shifts start at 8pm and end at 8am.

What you’ll do

• Collect the deceased during the night from a range of locations and scenarios in a professional, empathetic and dignified manner.
• Carry out support activities whilst at the funeral home, including the care and preparation of the deceased.
• Work closely with the wider team to ensure a clear hand‑over for daytime colleagues.
• Update and maintain records on both written and digital platforms in line with processes and regulation.
• Report to the care logistics manager and carry out any requests as instructed.

What you'll bring

• The flexibility to work night shifts.

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions to the letter.
• A calm approach in sometimes distressing situations and the ability to think on your feet.
• The ability to carry out duties involving manual lifting.
