The predicted salary is between 13.24 - 13.24 £ per hour.

£13.24 per hour plus great benefits. Part time 22.5 hours per week. Shift patterns - 3 out of 5 days across Monday – Friday (6am-2pm, 2pm-10pm, 10pm-6am), plus 1 in 3 weekends (6am-6pm, 6pm-6am) Bristol, BS30 8FR.

Please note all positions within Funeralcare can involve direct physical contact with the deceased as part of normal duties – the amount of contact will differ depending on the role applied for.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Remove and transfer the deceased safely and respectfully to the designated mortuary or post-mortem facility, on behalf of the Coroner.
  • Support the Coroner's investigation process by ensuring deceased persons are transferred promptly for examination or identification as required.
  • Provide a professional and compassionate service when dealing with bereaved families.
  • Work closely with the Coroner's Officers, police, healthcare professionals, funeral directors and mortuary staff.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation relating to transfers, collections and admissions.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of equipment and facilities, including vehicles.
  • Prepare coffins and engrave name plates.
  • Assist in the care and preparation of the deceased to the highest standard.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, health and safety and infection control procedures.

  • A full UK manual driving licence.
  • A sensitive approach to customer service with good attention to detail.
  • The ability to react calmly and compassionately in emotional circumstances.
  • The ability to perform the physical aspects of the role (manual lifting).
