We have an exciting opportunity for three Band 6 Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist to join the Islington Early Intervention Service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary community rehabilitation and recovery team, where you will provide specialised Occupational Therapy (OT) services to promote independence and enhance the quality of life for service users.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct high-quality OT assessments, interventions, and evaluations in line with the Royal College of Occupational Therapy Code of Ethics.

  • Use the Model of Human Occupation (MoHO) to develop tailored care plans that maximise service users’ daily living skills and lifestyle management.

  • Assess, establish, and review care packages, working collaboratively with health and social care providers to support independent living.

  • Address complex mental and physical health needs, including falls risk assessment, and provide appropriate equipment and adaptations.

  • Manage a caseload of service users with a strong OT focus, contributing to their physical and mental well-being.

  • Offer expert advice and contribute to the development of local and trust-wide OT services.

  • Supervise, mentor, and appraise junior staff and students on placement, fostering professional growth and development.

The Camden & Islington Early Intervention Service is undergoing an exciting expansion, with the ambition to become a Gold Standard Service. Focused on delivering the Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) model, the service aims to reduce relapse rates, minimize inpatient admissions, and promote service user recovery through social inclusion and maximizing strengths and potential. We are looking for energetic, motivated, and skilled practitioners to join us in achieving this goal., + A degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy with HCPC registration.

  • Experience in providing OT services in mental health or rehabilitation settings.

  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices, including NICE guidelines.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

In order to meet the needs of the Trust you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that fall under Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey or Islington. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.
