About Clara

We’re building Clara, an AI platform for home-service small businesses. More than 2,000 businesses use Clara today, and the platform handles over 10,000 calls every day.

Clara is built specifically for businesses with one to five people, with an initial focus on skilled trades such as HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical Services.

Every home-service business operates differently. Clara combines thoughtful product design with AI agents that adapt to each customer’s workflows, so the software fits around the business rather than forcing the business into a standard way of working.

Today, Clara answers calls and manages customer conversations. Our ambition is much bigger: to build an AI workforce that takes more of the administrative and growth work off the shoulders of millions of small business owners.

The Role

We’re hiring our first Product Marketing Manager to help determine where Clara has the strongest product-market fit and how we bring that value to market.

This is a senior individual-contributor role with no direct reports. You’ll establish the Product Marketing function and work within Growth, reporting to the co‑founder and CMO. You’ll work directly with Product, Design, User Research, Data, Creative, and Growth.

This is a strategic and hands‑on operational role. You’ll shape the direction, then stay close to the research, experiments, launches, and results, working through both teams and AI agents.

At Clara, Product Marketing is a product‑market‑fit discipline. Our Growth organization works through a continuous learning loop: Understand the market → form a hypothesis → build → take it to customers → observe behavior → learn → repeat. You’ll sit at the center of that loop.

What You’ll Do

  • Build our understanding of the market: Lead the market research and competitive analysis that informs Clara’s product and growth decisions. You’ll combine customer conversations, research, product data, and experiments to understand which customers have the strongest need for Clara, what jobs they are hiring Clara to do, what creates trust or hesitation around AI, what drives activation, retention, and willingness to pay, which customer segments offer the greatest opportunity, and where Clara can create more value than existing alternatives.
  • Own Clara’s segmentation, positioning, and messaging: Own and continuously improve Clara’s customer segmentation, positioning, value propositions, messaging and message hierarchy, category narrative, and competitive differentiation. Your work should help the right customers recognize that Clara is for a business like theirs, understand the value quickly, and feel confident trying the product.
  • Influence what we build: Work with Product, Design, User Research, and Data from early discovery through launch and iteration. Bring customer and market evidence into roadmap discussions, recommend which customer problems and opportunities Clara should prioritize, and help the team connect customer problem → product hypothesis → proposition → measurable outcome.
  • Turn market hypotheses into experiments: Work with Growth, Creative, and Growth Design to turn market questions into experiments. That could include testing a new customer segment, a different proposition or message, an onboarding experience, a pricing or packaging model, a product concept, a campaign or channel, or a new way of explaining what Clara does. You’ll define what each experiment is trying to learn, collaborate with the team to launch it, and use the results to decide what happens next.
  • Shape how products go to market: Within the broader growth strategy led by the CMO, you’ll own the audience, proposition, narrative, brief, and success criteria for product launches and repositioning. You’ll work with Growth, Creative, and channel owners to translate that product marketing strategy into launch positioning and narratives, campaign propositions and briefs, market‑facing content, messaging adapted for different channels, and measurement and post‑launch learning.
  • Help shape the commercial model: Research willingness to pay and recommend changes to pricing, tiers, packaging, and future commercial models. Those recommendations should come from customer evidence and observed behavior, not standard SaaS convention. You will execute pricing experiments that can inform our commercial strategy.

Who We’re Looking For

  • You’ve used customer research, market evidence, and product data to shape how a product is positioned and brought to market.
  • You can show how your work changed an outcome, such as activation, conversion, adoption, retention, willingness to pay, or the performance of a launch.
  • You’ve worked on a recognized product or brand that earned strong customer trust and loyalty. You can explain what created that relationship, what you personally contributed, and how customer insight shaped the product, positioning, messaging, or experience.
  • You know how to identify and validate high‑value customer segments, turn customer insight into a proposition people understand and want, develop positioning and messaging that hold up in the market, understand how product experience, positioning, and messaging work together to earn trust, design tests that answer real commercial questions, lead Product Marketing for a launch or repositioning from hypothesis through results, work closely with Product and Growth without waiting for a finished brief, challenge founders and senior leaders with clear evidence, and establish a function without an existing playbook.
  • The strongest candidates will have experience with self‑serve SMB or product‑led growth products. Experience serving very small businesses or skilled trades is especially relevant. Experience with AI products is valuable.
  • You’re comfortable moving between strategy and execution. You can develop a market point of view, turn it into a test, and stay close enough to the work to learn what customers actually do.

AI‑Native by Default

44pixels is building its Growth organization around AI agents. Agents already work across paid acquisition, analytics, research, SEO/GEO, and experimentation. We give these systems increasing autonomy and keep improving how humans and agents work together.

For this role, you’ll supervise and work alongside agents across research, analysis, campaign preparation, and experimentation. The balance between direct execution and agent supervision will evolve as our systems improve. We want a small group of strong humans focused on judgment, creativity, and understanding customers, with AI handling more of the repeatable execution.

What Success Looks Like

As an early‑stage company, our priorities will evolve as we learn. Your early focus will be to establish a clear view of our highest‑value customers, sharpen Clara’s positioning and messaging, and create a repeatable way to turn market insight into experiments.

Over time, you’ll be successful when:

  • Clara has a clear and evidence‑backed view of its highest‑value customer segments.
  • Our positioning and messaging demonstrate stronger message‑market fit.
  • Market insight leads to faster, higher‑quality experiments.
  • Launches and repositioning work are tied to measurable customer behavior.
  • Pricing and packaging recommendations are grounded in evidence.
  • Your work contributes to shared Growth outcomes, including activation, conversion, and willingness to pay.
  • Product, Growth, Creative, and the founders share a clear market point of view.

You’ll become one of the people the team turns to when deciding which customers to prioritize, which problems Clara should solve, how to communicate its value, and what to test next.

What We Offer

  • The opportunity to establish Product Marketing at a venture‑backed startup already serving more than 2,000 small businesses.
  • Direct collaboration with Clara’s founders and the Product, Growth, Design, Creative, Research, and Data teams.
  • The chance to shape how small businesses adopt and work with AI agents.
  • Meaningful investment in your learning and professional growth.
  • Competitive compensation, equity, a health plan, and paid time off.
  • A hybrid working model with three days each week in our London office.

At 44pixels, we believe different backgrounds and perspectives make our work better. We’re committed to creating an inclusive environment and welcome applications from all qualified candidates.
