Working Pattern: Full-time, fully onsite
Rate: Β£40.00 per hour Umbrella
Role Overview
South Thames Colleges Group is seeking an experienced HR Manager to provide a high-quality HR service across the college, supporting managers and staff across a broad range of employee relations and people matters.
The successful candidate will be an experienced HR professional with strong Employee Relations (ER) experience, confident in handling complex and sensitive cases and providing practical HR advice to managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional HR advice and guidance to managers and employees.
- Manage and advise on complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, sickness absence and performance matters.
- Support managers through formal HR processes, ensuring policies and procedures are applied consistently and fairly.
- Conduct investigations and provide guidance on appropriate outcomes and next steps.
- Support effective case management and maintain accurate HR records.
- Advise on employment policies, procedures and best practice.
- Work closely with managers to resolve people-related issues and improve employee performance and engagement.
- Support organisational change, restructures and other HR projects as required.
- Ensure HR practices comply with employment legislation and organisational policies.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience working as an HR Manager or senior HR professional.
- Strong and demonstrable Employee Relations experience is essential.
- Experience managing complex disciplinary, grievance, capability and absence cases.
- Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR best practice.
- Education/college or public-sector HR experience would be advantageous.
