Technical Manager – Embedded & Power

Are you an experienced Electronics or Embedded Engineer who enjoys leading people but still wants to stay close to the technology?
I’m recruiting a Technical Manager – Embedded & Power for an established technology business working across technically complex markets, including aerospace and defence.
This is a hands-on leadership role, managing technical, test and production personnel while taking responsibility for projects, workflow and the delivery of embedded and power solutions.
The role
You’ll be responsible for:
• Leading and managing technical, test and production personnel
• Managing projects, resources and production workflow
• Supporting the design and integration of embedded and power solutions
• Resolving pre and post sales technical enquiries
• Supporting prototype manufacture, integration, fault finding and repair
• Overseeing EMC and environmental testing
• Ensuring technical documentation, quality and QMS standards are maintained
What are we looking for?
You’ll need a strong background in electronics engineering, with experience across several of the following:
• Embedded boards and systems
• Power supplies
• Electronics design, manufacture and test
• High-level system design
• EMC and environmental testing
• CAD schematic capture
• Fault finding and repair
• Civilian and military standards
Most importantly, you’ll be comfortable managing people, projects and resources while remaining technically involved.
An Electronics, Engineering or Science degree would be beneficial, although equivalent industry experience will be considered.
Package
Salary: Up to £70,000 depending on experience
Bonus: Up to 20%
Benefits: Pension and Life Insurance
Location: Reading area, office based 5 days per week
