My client is looking to appoint an experienced Principal Civil Engineer to join their expanding Civil Engineering team. This is a standout opportunity for a Senior or Principal level Civil Engineer seeking more autonomy, leadership responsibility, and genuine long-term progression within a modern, fast-growing consultancy environment. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-profile residential, commercial, and infrastructure developments — leading projects from planning through to construction while mentoring junior engineers and helping shape the future growth of the business. The Role:

  • Lead the design and delivery of civil engineering projects
  • Manage drainage strategies, highways design, and infrastructure schemes
  • Oversee S278 / S38 technical approvals
  • Coordinate project teams and manage technical delivery
  • Work closely with developers, architects, contractors, and local authorities
  • Review and mentor junior engineers’ designs and technical outputs
  • Attend client meetings and site visits
  • Prepare fee proposals and support business development activities
  • Ensure projects are delivered to high quality, safety, and sustainability standards

About You:

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) working towards Chartership

  • Experience managing teams and mentoring junior engineers
  • Proficient with AutoCAD and Civil 3D (or similar design software)
  • Commercially aware with excellent communication skills
  • Ambitious and motivated to progress within a growing consultancy
