Are you an organised and detail-focused Exams Officer or Education Administrator looking for a role with greater variety, ownership, and purpose? We are recruiting an Exams Officer to join a growing education organisation supporting young people across alternative provision, specialist education, SEND services, and tutoring programmes. This is an opportunity to take ownership of the full examination cycle while working within a collaborative and student-focused environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Group Education Partner, you will be responsible for the planning, administration, and delivery of all internal and external examinations, ensuring compliance with JCQ and awarding body regulations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the annual examination cycle, including GCSEs, vocational qualifications, mock exams, and external assessments
  • Coordinating candidate entries, amendments, withdrawals, and timetables
  • Ensuring compliance with JCQ regulations and awarding body requirements
  • Organising examination materials, rooming, and exam-day procedures
  • Managing the secure storage and handling of examination papers
  • Recruiting, training, and coordinating invigilators
  • Supporting access arrangements alongside SEND teams and education staff
  • Managing results days and post-results services
  • Acting as the main point of contact for awarding bodies and examination boards
  • Maintaining accurate records, reporting, and compliance documentation

About You

You will ideally have:

  • Previous experience as an Exams Officer or within an education administration role
  • Strong organisational, planning, and time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • The ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and education systems
  • Understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding, and data protection

Desirable Experience

  • Knowledge of JCQ regulations and examination processes
  • Experience coordinating invigilators or examination teams
  • Experience supporting students with SEND and access arrangements
  • Experience working within schools, colleges, training providers, or alternative provision settings
