We’re working with a leading contractor to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing Defence & General Works team, delivering projects up to £10m across the South West. This role offers a strong mix of Defence schemes, fit-outs, and smaller general works, providing variety alongside real commercial ownership.
The Role
- Lead commercial delivery from pre-contract through to final account
- Manage cost control, forecasting, and reporting
- Oversee subcontract procurement, payments, and variations
- Drive change management and value recovery
- Work closely with project teams to maximise profitability
- Identify and manage commercial risks across multiple projects
You’ll play a key role in ensuring projects achieve strong commercial outcomes and meet performance targets.
About You
- Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying
- Strong experience managing construction projects commercially
- Good knowledge of NEC / JCT contracts
- Confident managing subcontractors and multiple schemes
- Defence experience advantageous but not essential
