We’re working with a leading contractor to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing Defence & General Works team, delivering projects up to £10m across the South West. This role offers a strong mix of Defence schemes, fit-outs, and smaller general works, providing variety alongside real commercial ownership.

The Role

  • Lead commercial delivery from pre-contract through to final account
  • Manage cost control, forecasting, and reporting
  • Oversee subcontract procurement, payments, and variations
  • Drive change management and value recovery
  • Work closely with project teams to maximise profitability
  • Identify and manage commercial risks across multiple projects

You’ll play a key role in ensuring projects achieve strong commercial outcomes and meet performance targets.

About You

  • Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying
  • Strong experience managing construction projects commercially
  • Good knowledge of NEC / JCT contracts
  • Confident managing subcontractors and multiple schemes
  • Defence experience advantageous but not essential
