3Twenty Aviation, based in Whiteley, Hampshire, is a premier flight simulation centre specialising in high-fidelity Airbus A320 simulation. While our state-of-the-art simulator is not certified, it is maintained to an exacting professional standard, serving as a vital training bridge for the next generation of aviation professionals. We are proud to be working with NATS in training the air traffic controllers of the future, providing them with an immersive "flight deck perspective" to better understand pilot workload, aircraft performance, and flight path management. Alongside our ATC programmes, we offer pre-line check preparation and assessment-day exercises. 3Twenty Aviation combines professional-grade Airbus simulation with a passion for educating the wider aviation community.
We are seeking a retired or former Airbus Pilot to join us as a Simulator Instructor on a contract basis at our Whiteley facility. This role is ideally suited to an experienced aviator looking to stay active within the industry by mentoring both aspiring pilots and Air Traffic Controllers. The role involves delivering high-quality simulation sessions on the A320, with a particular focus on bridging the gap between the cockpit and ATC. You will provide future ATCOs with a deep understanding of Airbus flight deck philosophy and aircraft systems.
Note on Hours: Due to the nature of our bookings, this is a sporadic, ad-hoc position. Work will be scheduled on an "as-required" basis, offering excellent flexibility for a retired professional looking to share their expertise without the commitment of a fixed roster.
Qualifications
- Airbus Experience: Candidates must have Airbus experience; we require someone with genuine "line experience" who can share real-world operational insights.
- Mentorship Mindset: A genuine interest in training the controllers of the future, helping them understand the realities of pilot behaviour and aircraft limitations.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt your style for both trainee pilots and non-pilot students.
- Flexibility: A relaxed approach to scheduling; comfortable with a sporadic workload that fluctuates based on client demand.
- Professional Standards: A commitment to maintaining a professional training environment, ensuring that even in a non-certified simulator, the quality of instruction remains at the highest level.
