3t Drilling Systems, the worldwide leader in the manufacture of 3D simulations for the oil & gas industry, are looking for talented placement students to join our friendly software team for a 30-week placement starting in June 2026. This will involve developing, deploying, and maintaining the various software systems that make up our immersive simulation solutions, including real-time physics models, innovative user interfaces, physical “cyber chairs” and 3D graphics software for projection domes, large multi-screen video walls and VR.
There are multiple roles available within the team to suit a range of technical skills:
- UI programming in .NET, WPF, WinForms
- Graphics programming and VR development in Unity
- Exercise scripting in C#, Python or similar
- Software QA using Jira and Zephyr
- Test Automation with Ranorex
Knowledge of or experience with the following would also be beneficial:
- Atlassian toolset and workflow; Jira, Confluence
- Source control and principles; SVN, Unity Version Control (Plastic SCM), Bitbucket
- Closed AI/ML technologies and their integration into proprietary software applications
