The Role
As Team Leader for Funded Programmes, you will oversee the financial administration of all funded learning programmes, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant invoicing across the team. You will lead and support the day‑to‑day delivery of end‑to‑end finance processes for Skills Bootcamps (Green Skills) and any future funded programmes secured by 3t; ILR and data return evidence will be key to this role.
Scope
- Based at our North Shields training centre
- Working with 3t’s direct funding via DfE/DWP and with funding partners such as colleges and combined authorities.
- Working closely with internal teams, such as finance and planning, ensuring accuracy of claims data.
- Responsible for monitoring workflow of the funded learning team, from administrative activities to invoices, utilising the team's skills to the best possible result for the business.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Leading the financial administration processes for all funded learning programmes, ensuring invoices, claims, and ILR‑related submissions are accurate, compliant, and delivered on time.
- Overseeing the collection, validation, and secure storage of all evidence required for funding claims, ensuring compliance with DfE funding rules, college partner requirements, and any other external funding bodies.
- Ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of ILR‑related data, working closely with internal data teams to confirm that all learner records, start/completion dates, progression data, and attendance evidence meet DfE specifications.
- Coordinating and monitoring the submission of ILR data and supporting evidence to external partners (e.g., colleges and other contract holders), ensuring deadlines are met and queries are resolved promptly to avoid delays in funding.
- Leading on the investigation and resolution of financial discrepancies, liaising confidently with funding bodies, audit teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure data and evidence align with funding claims.
- Producing and overseeing reports, reconciliations, and performance summaries related to revenue, financial claims, ILR submissions, and programme performance, ensuring the senior team has accurate, timely information.

- Has been responsible for and worked directly with ILR claims data, understands errors and how to resolve, and can challenge reports which do not reflect data submitted.
- Worked with funded training in the apprenticeship or skills bootcamp space, understands the need for compliance, evidence and accuracy to ensure timely payments.
- Demonstrates a commitment to continuous improvement, staying up to date with ESFA/DfE, Devolved Authority, and AEB funding rules, and proactively adapting processes to remain compliant.
- Quality and compliance background in terms of apprenticeships, and/or funded learning.
- Has experience of FE, e.g. working with colleges and private training sector.
- Experience with Ofsted and inspections for new and existing providers.
We offer semi‑flexible working hours, with shifts available between 7:30am and 6:00pm (Monday–Friday), including a 30‑minute unpaid lunch break.
