3t is currently looking to recruit a Group Treasury and Tax Manager on a permanent contract in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England, UK.

This role is contracted at 40 hours per week.

We offer semi‑flexible working hours, with shifts available between 7:30am and 6:00pm (Monday–Friday), including a 30‑minute unpaid lunch break.

Scope Of Role

The role’s primary objective is to optimise cash and liquidity in the Group and to ensure compliance with all tax regulations.

The role is an essential part of the senior Group finance team, managing the financial operations teams of Credit Control and Accounts Receivable for the UK Training division, the largest part of the Group.

The Group Tax and Treasury Manager will also be the subject matter expert on treasury and tax across the Group, helping the other business units to optimise cash flow and ensuring that tax matters are managed properly.

The role will primarily be based in the Group’s Digital Office in Newcastle with the expectation of occasional travel to all locations of the 3t Group in the UK and to MENA and the USA.

The role reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer but will have regular and deep working relationships with a range of stakeholders across the business.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Manage the UK Training Credit Control and Accounts Receivable functions.
  • Ensure that well‑designed KPI’s are rolled out, monitored and reported upon, with the objective of optimising the management of working capital and liquidity.
  • Liaise with external tax advisors to manage tax compliance across the Group, including VAT/Sales Tax compliance, Corporation Tax, RDEC Claims, Corporate Interest Restrictions and Thin Capitalisation Rules.
  • Manage tax planning activities across the Group including the application of transfer pricing rules across the globe.
  • Lead the cash and liquidity management workstream, including weekly cash calls and the rolling thirteen‑week cash flow forecast, managing cash effectively to ensure that liabilities are met on a weekly/monthly basis.
  • Work with the Group Finance Manager to improve the accuracy of weekly and monthly cash flow forecasting, with a particular focus on working capital.
  • Manage the Group’s relationships with the banks.
  • Consolidate our banking to optimise commercial terms across the Group.
  • Responsible for quarterly covenant reporting to corporate bondholders and Barclays bank.
  • Work closely with the CFO to refinance the Group when the corporate bond matures in May 2028.

  • Accountancy or Treasury qualification
  • 3-5 years post qualification experience
  • Previous experience in a similar international group managing financial operations teams
  • Highly numerate and analytical with a good attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a motivational leader with the ability to explain complex finance concepts to non‑financial managers
  • Well‑developed communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities to achieve deadlines
  • Ability to work on own initiative with little supervision

  • Good working knowledge of accounts/finance IT systems, database management and a proficient user of office IT systems including MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Power BI
