The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

Programming, setting and operating 4 & 5 axis CNC milling machines, as well as setting and operating CNC Turning Centres producing high-end components to tight tolerances mainly within the Aerospace, Defence and Automotive industries.

Responsibilities:

  • Programming/setting and operating 3, 4 & 5 axis CNC milling machines.
  • Programming/setting and operating CNC Turning Centres.
  • Tool life management and sister tooling.
  • Set up and run one-off developments and associated batches.
  • Assist in the definition of manufacturing and equipment requirements.
  • Provide support for the introduction of new facilities and equipment.
  • Assist and advise on the implementation and reporting of key projects and/or continuous improvement programmes, within a defined area.
  • Have a good eye for detail with all work carried out.
  • Work to the highest standard of Quality.
  • Manage and run multiple machines during shifts.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Manufacturing knowledge of Hard Metal finishing/machining.
  • Worked in an organisation that has experienced change.
  • English (business fluent) – other languages beneficial.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Able to work with cross-functional teams that will typically include operations and design engineering.
  • Capable of reading drawings and an understanding of General Dimensions and Tolerances.
  • The use and understanding of tool setting and tool probing.
  • Strong minded and committed, focused on delivery, must be able to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work as a part of a team or in isolation.
  • Resourceful, flexible, and adaptable.
  • Experience in programming/setting operating 4 and 5 axis CNC machines.

Experience working practice of delivering aerospace/automotive metal components within a factory environment, working to tight deadlines within a dynamic/busy environment. Ability to set and run 4 and/or 5 axis machines. Experience of running probing programmes and setting datums and work plane alignment using a touch probe. Experience of machining castings (not essential but beneficial). Demonstrates effective team orientation qualities and can integrate into a multifunctional team environment. Demonstrates effective conflict resolution.
