A well-established and growing Residential Conveyancing team based in Milton Keynes is looking to recruit a Conveyancing Assistant to support fee earners throughout the full conveyancing process. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong administration skills who is looking to build or continue a career within residential property and conveyancing.
The Role
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the conveyancing team, assisting with files from initial instruction through to post-completion.
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure a smooth and efficient service is delivered to clients at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Opening, updating, and closing conveyancing files
- Preparing quotes and initial client paperwork
- Handling client identification documents and initiating AML checks
- Scanning and filing correspondence accurately
- Typing and preparing legal documents, forms, and correspondence
- Liaising with estate agents, clients, and third parties via phone, email, and letter
- Providing polite and efficient updates to clients throughout the transaction
- Preparing contract and completion packs
- Ordering redemption statements
- Preparing bills and financial documentation
- Assisting with post-completion work, including:
- Stamp Duty Land Tax Returns
- Land Registry applications
- Deeds schedule
About You
- Educated to GCSE level (minimum 5 GCSEs at grade 6 or above)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Proactive, reliable, and able to use initiative
- A strong team player who can also work independently
- Previous experience within conveyancing or a legal environment would be beneficial, but not essential
