Our client is a leading engineering solutions provider delivering bespoke automation and control systems across multiple industries.

Due to continued growth and new project wins across the UK, our client is now looking to expand their engineering division and seek an experienced Project Systems Engineer to take ownership of end-to-end project delivery, including system design, hardware specification, software development, testing, and site support.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong experience in control systems engineering (PLC/SCADA).

What's involved for the Project Systems Engineer…

  • Designing and delivering control systems to meet customer requirements.
  • Producing schematics, process diagrams, flow charts, and layout designs.
  • Designing communication networks.
  • Selecting hardware and ensuring all components meet compliance and certification standards.
  • Creating and modifying PLC, HMI, and SCADA software.
  • Supervising control panel builds and working with suppliers and CAD engineers.
  • Managing factory and site testing, including the creation of test documentation and execution of test procedures.
  • Preparing and updating all technical documentation including Data Point Schedules, compliance matrices, and O&M manuals.
  • Supporting installation and commissioning activities on-site.
  • Managing warranty support and resolving post-installation issues.

What you'll need…

  • Strong background in industrial electrical or automation engineering.
  • Proven experience with control systems including PLCs, SCADA, and HMIs.
  • Ability to design and interpret electrical schematics and process control diagrams.
  • Familiarity with standards and regulations in industrial controls.
  • Experience with network design and hardware selection.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites as required.
