This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety professional who enjoys a hands-on and varied role, with approximately 50% of your time spent supporting construction and civil engineering sites, alongside 50% based at the company's manufacturing facility in King's Lynn, where you will oversee the site's HSEQ requirements. You will work closely with senior management and operational teams to ensure the business remains compliant, continually improves its systems and maintains a strong 'Work Safe, Home Safe' culture.

What's involved for the SHEQ Manager:

  • Oversee HSEQ requirements across the company's manufacturing facility in King's Lynn
  • Develop, implement and maintain SHEQ policies, procedures and systems
  • Ensure compliance with current Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality legislation
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits across construction, civil and manufacturing environments
  • Manage the company's legal and compliance registers
  • Maintain and continually improve the Integrated Management System
  • Lead accident, incident and near-miss investigations
  • Report audit and inspection findings to senior management and recommend corrective actions
  • Provide SHEQ advice and support to installation, estimating, production and project teams
  • Oversee employee and subcontractor training, inductions and competency requirements
  • Manage company accreditations including SSIPs and Constructionline
  • Manage subcontractor compliance, vetting and approval processes
  • Maintain project security clearance and DBS registers

What you'll need:

  • NEBOSH National Diploma or equivalent
  • CSCS card
  • Experience within a Health & Safety / SHEQ position
  • Experience within Construction, Civil Engineering, M&E, Manufacturing or Engineering
  • Strong knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation
  • Proven experience working across construction sites and/or manufacturing environments
  • Experience managing Health & Safety across multiple sites or projects
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong report writing and policy development skills
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office and EHS management systems
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Willingness to travel to site

The following would be IDEAL BUT NOT ESSENTIAL:

  • Experience auditing against ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001
  • Environmental or Sustainability Management experience
  • Relevant Environmental or Sustainability qualifications
  • IOSH Membership - CertIOSH minimum
  • Experience working with Integrated Management Systems
  • Experience working across both construction/civil sites and manufacturing environments
