Our client is a progressive and growing engineering and manufacturing business based in Huntingdon. With continued growth and exciting projects in the pipeline, they are now looking for a Bookkeeper to join their team and play a key role in supporting the finance function and overall business operations.
What's involved for the Bookkeeper:
- Maintain accurate financial records, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities using Xero
- Process accounts payable and receivable
- Reconcile bank accounts and company ledgers
- Assist with VAT returns
- Raise invoices
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial processes
- Monitor cash flow and report on financial performance
- Proactively chase outstanding payments in line with project milestones and agreed payment terms
- Liaise with internal teams to track project stages and ensure timely and accurate invoicing
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies
- Liaise with external accountants and auditors when required
What you'll need:
- Proven experience in a Bookkeeper or similar finance role
- Strong working knowledge of Xero accounting software or similar is advantageous
- Understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- AAT qualification or similar (desirable but not essential)
