Patrick Murray and 3Search are working with a high-growth FMCG organisation to appoint a senior digital commerce leader. This role has been created as part of continued business growth and increased investment in digital and omnichannel capability. As online grocery and pure-player channels accelerate in importance, the business is strengthening leadership to drive performance across Amazon, Ocado and grocery.com partners, while embedding best-in-class digital execution across sales and marketing.

Our client is a globally established, purpose-led food business with a strong portfolio of household consumer brands. Operating across traditional retail, e-commerce and out-of-home channels, the organisation is investing heavily in digital transformation, data, and capability building to secure long-term, sustainable growth. This is an environment where the Head of Online will have real ownership, influence, and visibility at senior level.

The Head of Online will:

  • Own and deliver the UK & Ireland online strategy across Amazon, Ocado, and grocery.com partners, driving accelerated growth.
  • Hold full P&L responsibility for UK pure-player accounts, leading negotiations, sales strategy, and commercial performance.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Fantastic Ecommerce Manager, helping them play to their strengths and upskill where necessary.
  • Influence wider Grocery NAMs, upskilling and educating about digital shelf and ensuring increased adoption and adherence to core Digital KPIs.
  • Be the in-house Online/Ecommerce Sales Advocate, proactively communicating about all Digital, Ecommerce, Online ecosystem evolutions across all key stakeholders and job functions (Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance).
  • Set KPIs, performance frameworks, and action plans to optimise online sales, margin, and execution.
  • Identify, test, and scale new opportunities across quick commerce, social commerce, and emerging digital platforms.

The role requires:

  • A fantastic background of Online commercial experience with proven success across Amazon, Ocado, and major grocery.com retailers.
  • Strong negotiation capability with a track record of driving commercial transformation.
  • Hands-on understanding of retail distribution, category management, and trade marketing.
  • Experience managing agencies across PPC, SEO, and digital performance.
  • A strong financial mindset with confidence owning and optimising P&L performance.

Technical & data capability includes:

  • Working knowledge of Brandbank, Data Impact, Circana and/or Nielsen IQ.
  • A proactive approach to adopting digital tools, data platforms, and AI to enhance performance.
