Interim Head of Performance Marketing 6-Month Rolling Contract
Day rate: £600–£800 per day (DOE)
Location: Cardiff, Wales (3 days p/w onsite – overnight accommodation covered, commutable from London)

We are working with a high-growth, PE-backed consumer business undergoing an exciting e-commerce transformation. With a strong heritage in the sports and lifestyle category, the business is investing heavily in its Direct-to-Consumer capability. This newly formed interim leadership team is driving a commercial and digital reset, creating significant opportunity for ambitious, hands-on performance marketers to shape the future direction of the business and its brand portfolio.
The business is building its D2C function from the ground up, and this newly created role arrives at a pivotal moment. The Interim Head of Performance Marketing will take full ownership of acquisition channels, with a particular focus on scaling PPC activity and improving paid social performance. This hire will accelerate customer acquisition across the UK, Germany, and US.
The Interim Head of Performance Marketing will:
- Lead and manage paid acquisition channels including PPC, Meta, and SEO across multi-brand, international markets.
- Take immediate control of agency relationships, challenging existing partners and, where necessary, leading agency review processes.
- Scale PPC activity from £20k to £100k+ monthly spend, ensuring strong ROI and acquisition growth.
- Collaborate closely with ecommerce, creative, and leadership teams to align acquisition plans with brand launches and market expansions.
- Play a visible and influential role within a newly assembled interim leadership team.
Essential Skills:
- Extensive experience in PPC and performance marketing, with a track record of successfully scaling budgets.
- Global or international experience would be a bonus, ideally in US and/or Germany.
- Strong agency management skills, with the confidence to assess, challenge, and improve partner performance.
- Commercially driven, with proven ability to deliver against sales and customer acquisition KPIs.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-change environments with evolving priorities.
- Experience in ecommerce, consumer brands, or PE-backed businesses preferred.
