A fast-growing engineering and technology business specialising in national security, defence and communications solutions is looking to appoint an experienced Bid Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing team, taking ownership of the end-to-end bid process across public sector and government frameworks.
Location: Hybrid working; minimum of 3 days per week in the office based in Bristol.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the full end-to-end bid process from opportunity qualification through to final submission and contract award.
- Develop bid strategies and compelling win themes in collaboration with capture teams and key stakeholders.
- Facilitate go/no-go reviews and support opportunity qualification decisions.
- Monitor and manage responses to public sector frameworks and government procurement opportunities.
- Write, review and edit high-quality, persuasive tender responses and supporting documentation.
- Translate complex technical information into clear, engaging and client-focused content.
- Manage clarification questions, procurement portals and client communications.
- Maintain and develop bid collateral including case studies, CVs, social value responses and rate cards.
- Maintain bid libraries, knowledge management systems and document repositories.
- Analyse bid outcomes, conduct lessons learned reviews and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders including technical teams, commercial teams, operational leaders and directors to gather information and coordinate submissions.
Skills and Experience:
- 3 years’+ experience managing bids and tender submissions, ideally within the public sector or government framework environment.
- Proven experience delivering successful end-to-end bid submissions.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities and tight deadlines.
- Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience working with technical subject matter experts to develop compelling content.
- Knowledge of UK government procurement processes and frameworks would be advantageous.
- Candidates must be eligible for Security Clearance (SC).
