We’re looking for a General Manager to lead the Trevor Arms in Marford. This is a full-time, on-site role, based near Wrexham.
You’ll lead the team and oversee the day-to-day running of the pub, creating a welcoming experience for every guest while building a positive, well-organised workplace. You’ll play a key role in bringing the Trevor Arms back to life: setting the tone, building local relationships and helping establish it as a pub the community can be proud of.
Your responsibilities will include leading, coaching and developing the team; managing rotas and performance; maintaining high standards of food, drink and service; and overseeing opening and closing procedures. You’ll also be responsible for food safety and health and safety, stock and ordering, cost control, customer feedback, and the pub’s financial and operational performance.
Working with the company leadership team, you’ll help grow sales, deliver local marketing activity and make sure the Trevor Arms feels rooted in Marford and the surrounding area.
Qualifications
- Experience managing a pub, restaurant or hospitality team, with responsibility for daily operations.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to build an engaged, welcoming and customer-focused team.
- Confidence managing rotas, training, performance and team development.
- Experience with budgets, stock, ordering, cost control and financial reporting.
- A good understanding of food safety, health and safety, and relevant compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication skills and a practical approach to resolving guest and team issues.
- Strong organisation and problem-solving skills, with an eye for detail.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
- General Manager experience is welcome; we’ll also consider strong Assistant Managers ready to take the next step.
- Hospitality or management qualifications are an advantage, but a great attitude and relevant experience matter most.
